Privacy policy

Local data stays local.

Effective and last updated August 15, 2026. This policy covers Job Autofill Assistant 2.6.

Scope

This policy covers Job Autofill Assistant 2.6, a local-first Chrome extension for reviewing and filling job applications.

Version 2.6 does not include accounts, authentication, cloud sync, AI features, Networking, website-to-extension bridging, or diagnostic uploads.

Data the extension handles

You may save profile details, contact and location information, work and education history, optional demographic or health-related answers, application answers, saved jobs, stage history, and application session state.

Resume files and the text extracted from them may include any information you placed in the resume. The extension also observes the current application page, field labels, field types, and fill results to provide the requested form-filling workflow.

Optional local diagnostics contain only the extension version, ATS type, hostname, field labels, result status, and error codes. They do not contain field values, profiles, resume contents, or full page URLs.

Local storage and no off-device transfer

Profiles, application answers, saved jobs, stage history, application sessions, and diagnostics are stored in chrome.storage.local. Resume files are stored in extension-owned IndexedDB.

Job Autofill Assistant 2.6 does not transmit this data to Wantiii, an analytics provider, an AI provider, or any other server. Preview, copy, and export actions remain local and are initiated by you.

Site access

The extension is enabled automatically only on Workday, Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable, and SmartRecruiters domains declared in its manifest.

For another HTTPS recruitment site, the extension does not read or change the page until you click Enable on this site and approve access to that exact hostname. You can revoke that permission from the same control or from Chrome extension settings.

LinkedIn is permanently blocked from content-script injection. Job Autofill Assistant does not scrape LinkedIn, observe LinkedIn pages, connect with people, or send messages. Browser-internal pages and non-HTTPS pages are unsupported.

How data is used

Data is used only to show your local application plan, fill fields after your instruction, attach your chosen resume, preserve existing answers, identify fields that need your input, and maintain your local job tracker.

The extension never submits an application. You review every filled field and decide whether to continue or submit on the employer's site.

We do not sell data, use it for advertising, use it for credit or lending decisions, or share it with third parties.

Retention, deletion, and permission withdrawal

Local data remains until you edit it, delete an item, use Privacy and data use → Clear all local data, clear the extension's storage in Chrome, or uninstall the extension.

Clear all local data requires a two-step confirmation and removes Chrome local storage, resume IndexedDB data, registered optional content scripts, and optional site permissions.

Revoking a single optional site permission prevents the extension from running there after refresh. Removing the extension deletes its Chrome-managed local data.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

Job Autofill Assistant's use of information received from Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Chrome API data is used only to provide or improve the extension's single-purpose application assistance, is not transferred for advertising or unrelated purposes, and is not used to determine creditworthiness or for lending.
